Planned opening of Trollstigen the 14th of July 2025
The rockfall mitigation work carried out on Trollstigen has been a demanding task due to significant amounts of loose rocks, which have impacted the progress. However, following assessments by the county road administration, the 14th of July 2025 has now been set as planned date for the reopening of the iconic Trollstigen road.
Opening 2025
County road director Ole Jan Tønnesen explains that several factors must be considered. “It’s about weather conditions, the volume of loose rocks, and ensuring the safety of the crew working on the mitigation efforts. It’s also important for us to provide businesses, local communities, and travellers with a reopening date that is as predictable as possible.”
As a result, the planned reopening date for Trollstigen is now set for 14 July 2025.
